Fun with filters.
This map uses the same data as the previous version but has added filtering options:
- years (sorry about the number formatting; can’t work out how to fix this)
- I didn’t realise this initially but you can either filter start/end dates independently using the year circles or as a fixed range using the horizontal blue bar
- people
- places
- position type
You can also make a selection in the map itself; click on the button just beneath the + and - buttons.
BUT the clustering mechanism used in the previous map can’t be combined with these filters.
That means that when you click on a circle that represents than one data point at the same location, you can only see one label; the others are hidden behind it.
You can tell which circles have multiple data points because they’re darker than the singles. (If there’s both MM and an other at the same place the circles look slightly more purple.) Sometimes the filters will help. The table also reacts automatically to the filters so you can see the full data for any filtered selection.
